Bowen Zhang of Saint John’s Preparatory School, Collegeville, MN, has been named the high school NAECAD National Player of the Year for 2021-22. In addition to Bowen, the following players earned NAECAD All-American status: Eric Dofner of Abraham Lincoln High School, Council Bluffs, IA; Zac Barnes of Clinton High School, Clinton, AK; Ariel Johnston of Case High School, Racine, WI; William Bingham of Hart Career Center, Mexico, MO; Aaron Crabb of Edgewood High School, Madison, WI; and Dominic Perez of South Forsyth High School, Cumming, GA, the NAECAD national office announced Tuesday.
Bowen Zhang of Saint John’s Preparatory School, Collegeville, MN has led the school’s League of Legends team to unprecedented success this year. Charles Miller, Head Coach Saint John’s Preparatory School esports program and NAECAD member, has this to say about Bowen, “He plays the Jungler role and is the captain and leader of the team. As a senior, he spends time teaching the younger players how to improve and leads "captain's practice" on the weekends. His KDA is over 13 in games thus far and always plays with a high level of sportsmanship!”
